Custom software- Situation
- The job data was scattered across spreadsheets, messenger photos from the site and handwritten timesheets. Anyone who wanted to know the status of a project had to gather several sources, and billing dragged on because hours and material had to be reconstructed from photos and slips.
- Approach
- We accompanied the business at its real work, from the site to the office, and built a central web app for projects, work reports, time tracking and material out of it. After four months the first usable system was in place, and for another three months we supported the rollout during ongoing operations.
- Result
- Hours and material are now recorded directly on site instead of reconstructed in the evening, and billing happens in hours instead of days. The spreadsheets and the slips of paper are gone, and the owner can see at any time how his projects stand.
